Philosophy:
Dr. Magdi Ghali lived in three American states before joining Iowa Heart Center in 1987. In each place, he learned more about the practice of cardiology.
Dr. Ghali received his medical degree from Cairo University, and practiced cardiology in Egypt for four years before moving to the U.S. He then completed an American internship at the University of South Dakota Medical College in Sioux Falls, a residency at Texas Tech University in El Paso, and a cardiology fellowship at Wayne State University in Detroit.
He served with the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Des Moines for three years before joining Iowa Heart Center. An interventional cardiologist, Dr. Ghali specializes in angioplasty, including the introduction of new technologies, such as lasers, into the catheterization laboratory.
He is board certified in cardiology and interventional cardiology, and currently practices at Mercy Medical Center - Des Moines.
