Abstract:
A method, system and computer program product for associating automated electronic mail (e-mail) with a calendar of events. A sender utilizes an automated e-mail to notify an event's scheduled attendees that the sender is out of office. When utilizing options within a mail user agent, a user may select a set of calendar days in which the user is not available for events. The mail user agent, associated with the user's calendar of events, displays one or more events conflicting with the selected days the user is not available. The e-mail addresses of one or more attendees associated with the conflicting event are dynamically linked to the automated message. The sender may input a text message informing owners, all attendees, and/or select attendees of the sender's absence.

Abstract:
The illustrative embodiments provide a method and an apparatus for writing a shortened text message using a wireless mobile device. An editor receives longhand text written through a user interface for the wireless mobile device. The editor then matches the longhand text with at least one shortened equivalent. A user interface then displays the at least one shortened equivalent. Responsive to receiving a user input accepting the at least one shortened equivalent through the user interface, the editor replaces the longhand text in a message with the at least one shortened equivalent.

A mechanism is provided for scheduling and reserving virtual meeting locations in a calendaring application. Participants use a calendaring application to schedule meetings. If the meeting takes place in a location within the virtual persistent world, then the calendaring application sends the meeting information, including virtual user IDs of the invitees, meeting location, and other virtual world requirements or parameters for the meeting, to a software agent. The software agent receives the meeting information and generates a script for creating the meeting location and a script for destroying the meeting location.

In an illustrative embodiment, a computer implemented method for providing remote system recovery services is provided. The computer implemented method generates bootable system recovery images to form a set of bootable system recovery images, creates a list of authorized users from a set of subscribers, and receives a request for a bootable system recovery image, including a subscriber identifier, to form a received request. The computer implemented method further authenticates the subscriber identifier in the received request and sends the bootable system recovery image to the subscriber. Abstract:
A server rack enclosure has a display, keyboard and mouse mounted on the inside face of the enclosure's door. When the door is in an open position, these user interface devices provide access and control over the servers, hard drives, network equipment, etc. mounted in the server rack. The location of the user interface devices on the enclosure door saves valuable rack space for servers or other machines. The user interface devices are integrally or separately mounted to a vertical rail affixed to the door to permit user positioning of the user interface devices to a preferred height by sliding the display and keyboard along the rail. The display and keyboard are mounted to the rail using hinge or swivel mounts to permit the user rotation and positioning of the user interface devices to a preferred viewing and operational angle.
