Abstract:
An activity management system, and a method of using thereof, is described for a service process in semiconductor manufacturing. The activity management system includes a data collection system configured to receive service activity data associated with at least one service component and a service operator, and relate the service activity data with at least one service account. Additionally, the activity management system includes a data storage system coupled to the data collection system and configured to store the service activity data. Furthermore, the activity management system includes a service action system coupled to the data collection system and the data storage system, and configured to perform at least one service function including service component repair, service component start-up, service component preventive maintenance, service component cleaning, service component revision (e.g., a field change notice), a service component enhancement (e.g., a continuous improvement notice), service component de-installation, a customer action plan, a project action plan, and service education.

Abstract:
A method and system for correcting a fault in a semiconductor manufacturing system is described. Fault correction for a service component is achieved using an interactive case study with a service operator. The interactive case study can identify one or more cases where the current service activity data substantially matches past service activity data, and utilize this correlation to assist the service operator in conducting the service component repair. If necessary, the interactive case study can identify one or more tests to perform in order to narrow down the number of matching cases. As tests are performed and results are retrieved by the interactive case study, the number of matching cases is reduced. For instance, the interactive case study can assist in identifying a manufacturing system part to replace in a manufacturing system tool in order to correct the problem.

Abstract:
A method for training a receiving modem is disclosed. The receiving modem can be trained by a sending modem via a four-segment training procedure. During segment training, the sending modem waits for silence on a transmission line between the sending modem and the receiving modem for 48 symbol intervals. Then, the sending modem performs segment training by sending alternating AB symbols to the receiving modem for 64 symbol intervals. During segment training, the sending modem sends CD symbols to the receiving modem for 64 symbol intervals in order to train an equalizer within the receiving modem. During segment training, the sending modem continues to train the equalizer within the receiving modem by sending scrambled binary “1” symbols to the receiving modem for 48 symbol intervals. After a successful completion of the segment training, the receiving modem can change to a data mode to begin detecting and receiving data from the sending modem.
