Bone Fragment Extraction

Bone Fragment Extraction

US Patent:
2011010, May 5, 2011
Filed:
Nov 2, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/611071
Inventors:
Nikolaj Wolfson - San Francisco CA, US
International Classification:
A61B 17/56
US Classification:
606 86 R
Abstract:
Methods and structures for removing a bone fragment from a body of a patent. A method can include advancing a distal portion of an orthopedic extraction device into a bone fragment disposed in a bone mass in the body of the patient, and actuating one or more deployable members of the distal portion of the device positioned in the bone fragment so as to engage the bone fragment with the device. With engagement between the device and bone fragment, a force or torque to the device so as to remove the bone fragment from the bone mass of the patient.

Orthopedic Joint Hinge, Methods And Devices

Orthopedic Joint Hinge, Methods And Devices

US Patent:
2012014, Jun 7, 2012
Filed:
Nov 30, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/308238
Inventors:
Nikolaj Wolfson - San Francisco CA, US
Assignee:
OrthoLan LLC - San Francisco CA
International Classification:
A61B 17/00
US Classification:
606 55
Abstract:
An orthopedic joint hinge assembly includes a first elongated member, a first coupler attached to the first elongated member and including a first interface surface, a second elongated member, and a second coupler attached to the second elongated member and including a second interface surface. Each of the first and second couplers is constrained to rotate about an axis of rotation. The first and second interface surfaces are offset from the axis of rotation and engage each other to block a relative rotation between the first and second members in a first direction and separate from each other to permit a relative rotation in an opposite direction.

Orthopedic Fixation Systems And Methods

Orthopedic Fixation Systems And Methods

US Patent:
2012014, Jun 7, 2012
Filed:
Nov 30, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/308184
Inventors:
Nikolaj Wolfson - San Francisco CA, US
Assignee:
OrthoLan LLC - San Francisco CA
International Classification:
A61B 17/62
US Classification:
606 56
Abstract:
Collapsible orthopedic fixation assemblies and related methods are disclosed. A collapsible fixation assembly includes end frames that are coupled with one or more cross beams. The fixation assembly is reconfigurable between a collapsed configuration in which the end frames are substantially aligned with the one or more cross beams and a deployed configuration in which the end frames are oriented transverse to the one or more cross beams and in which relative movement between the end frames and the one or more cross beams can be inhibited. The fixation assembly is configured to support at least one bone-interface component, which is configured to constrain a bone of a patient. In the collapsed configuration, the fixation assemblies is more compact than in the deployed configuration, thereby making it more easy to store and transport as compared to a comparable non-collapsible fixation assembly.
