Philosophy:
I believe that people earn their problems honestly, and most negative issues that bring a person to psychotherapy often started out as adaptive coping strategies in early life; they just don't work so well now. I help people to be more aware of the beliefs and self-protective strategies that may be holding them back from feeling free to live full, happy lives. I have ten years of post-graduate training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis and twenty years of diverse practice experience, 15 in private practice. I like to offer a full initial evaluation to new patients over the course of several sessions so that I can offer ideas about what might be causing your distress and how our unique work together can most optimally help.
