Registered Nurse in state of Ohio, license # RN.359661, valid through 8/31/2013 Administer and document medications according to MAR, both routine and PRN Chart patient care, progress and procedures both manually and on computer, proficient with Point Click Care and COMS Initiate/maintain/discontinue peripheral IV systems, maintain/discontinue PICC lines, initiate/maintain/discontinue IV access to Mediport via Huber needle IV administration via peripheral, PICC line, Midline and Mediport, including continuous fluids, medications, piggybacked medications and IV push Blood draws through PICC lines, Midlines and Huber access using sterile method Dressing and cap changes on PICC lines, Midlines and Huber access using sterile method Maintain GI/PEG tubes, including checking placement, medication administration, flushing, replacing tube, both bolus and continuous feed Collect specimens including wound cultures, blood draws, urine and stool samples Initiate/maintain/discontinue/irrigate Foley catheters using sterile method Replace urostomy and colostomy bags and flanges, ostomy care Respiratory support including oxygen administration, aerosol treatments, monitoring oxygen saturation Tracheostomy care including cleaning, suctioning, dressing change using sterile method Process new physician orders, including faxing to pharmacy, transcribing to MAR/TAR, nursing notes, nightly chart checks, discuss new orders with resident/POA Intake and return of pharmaceuticals, including restocking and pulling from contingency stock Interact with lab, including making lab appointments, assist phlebotomist with difficult patients, fill out requisition forms as needed, post visit charting Perform wound care and dressing changes using sterile method Monitor vital signs and changes in patient conditions Perform head-to-toe and focused assessments of patients, including history Prepare paperwork and arrange transport for patient appointments Communicate therapeutically with patients about their needs and conditions Educate patients regarding their condition and suggest lifestyle changes Perform personal care and hygiene for patients Practice standard and other precautions as required Ensure patient safety at all times, including while restrained Assign and delegate tasks to other personnel as charge nurse Work closely with nurses, aids, physicians and support staff Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
