Philosophy:
Kurt J. Nilsson, MD, ABFP specializes in pediatric sports medicine and nonoperative treatment for sports injuries, fracture management, and concussion in children and adults. He provides medical support and coverage for Columbia High School, the College of Idaho, and Tamarack and Bogus Basin ski patrols, and travels with the U.S. Ski Team. He actively participates in research projects at the Intermountain Orthopaedics Center for Orthopaedic and Biomechanics Research at Boise State University. Dr. Nilsson earned his medical degree from the University of Utah and master's degree in exercise science from Boise State University. He completed his family medicine residency at St. Mary's Hospital and his sports medicine fellowship with Intermountain Orthopaedics.
