Concealed Linear Payout Holder For Fishing Leader

US Patent:
6006466, Dec 28, 1999
Filed:
Aug 20, 1998
Appl. No.:
9/136941
Inventors:
John Washecka - Austin TX
International Classification:
A01K 9100
US Classification:
43 4311
Abstract:
This invention relates generally to fishing tackle or equipment and more specifically to a device to conceal or camouflage a fishing leader during presentation of the bait and disburse that leader after the hookup. The housing for the payout leader system of this invention is composed of two half shells, one male and one female, fitting together, that contain a hollow space between them. A portion of leader is temporarily stored in this space. The first end of the leader exits the device's front aperture and is attached to the fishing line. The second end of the leader exits the device's rear aperture and is attached to a hook. The force from the fish striking the hook causes the leader material to exit the device. The first and preferred embodiment (for fishing with bait) is for the leader to payout exclusively through the front aperture. A second embodiment (for fishing with lures and feathers) would be for the leader to be paid out through the rear aperture.

Collapsible Bait Trap And Decoy Cage To Tantalize And Attract Predator Fish

US Patent:
5566499, Oct 22, 1996
Filed:
Mar 29, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/412933
Inventors:
John Washecka - Austin TX
International Classification:
A01K 6906, A01K 7100, A01K 6910
US Classification:
43100
Abstract:
A collapsible bait trap for fisherman comprised of an annular top and bottom panel, each with a peripheral edge and a flexible net paneling joining the top and bottom panels. The invention utilizes a novel shape composed of a multi-cylindrical configuration. The sides of the cylindrical chambers, where they join together, form a funnel through which the fish enter the invention. This improved trap advantageously has a multi-cylindrical configuration which substantially reduces the possibilities for the fish to escape or to injure themselves, thus substantially increasing the total efficiency of capture. Once sufficient bait fish are captured, the invention may be relocated for use as a decoy to stimulate and attract game fish. The captured fish will be excited and resonate their fear by making noises and grunts, creating vibrations that attract the predators pursued by the fisherman.

Tail Hook A Device For Forming A Slidable Loop Around An Object

US Patent:
6079141, Jun 27, 2000
Filed:
May 15, 1998
Appl. No.:
9/080076
Inventors:
John Washecka - Austin TX
International Classification:
A01K 9714
US Classification:
43 5
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an improved restraining device for more effectively gripping and handling objects and which is composed of a line or similar limber material which is formed by this device into a slidable loop about that target. The invention is composed of a generally cylindrical elongated tubular shaft and a pair of complementary arcuate jaws at the distal end which form a relatively U-shape in the open position. A releasable rope attached to a swivel snap latch is held at the distal end of the pivotal arcuate jaw. Attached to the distal end of the fixed arcuate jaw is a pair of parallel finger like appendages. In the operation mode the pivotal arcuate jaw with the swivel snap latch sandwiches between the two finger like appendages and physically holds the target. In the closing process the swivel snap latch engages the rope held between the two fingers and forms a slidable loop or a completed circle. While the fish is being held between the fixed and pivotal jaws the operator pulls the rope tightening the slidable loop around the fish's tail.
