Method Of Bet Placement And Wager Distribution

US Patent:
5871213, Feb 16, 1999
Filed:
Apr 30, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/845962
Inventors:
Paul G. Chadband - San Jose CA
Hai Q. Huynh - San Jose CA
Assignee:
Sutter's Place - San Jose CA
International Classification:
A63F 100
US Classification:
273292
Abstract:
A method of bet placement and wager distribution for use with gambling games conducted in rounds; each round frontline players place wagers on their own final ranking in the associated game into a frontline players' pot, and backline players place wagers on the relative final rankings of the frontline players into a backline players' pot. The game round is fully played out, and then the relative rankings of the frontline players are determined, identifying a highest ranked frontline player or players and a second highest ranked frontline player or players. The relative rankings of the backline players are then determined by reference to the rankings of the frontline players they selected, identifying a highest ranked backline player or players and a second-highest ranked backline player or players. The frontline players' pot is then apportioned between the highest-ranked and second-highest ranked frontline players according to a predetermined formula, and the backline players' pot is apportioned between the highest-ranked and second-highest ranked backline players according to a predetermined formula.

Inventors:
Paul G. Chadband - San Jose CA
Hai Q. Huynh - San Jose CA
James R. McKee - San Jose CA
International Classification:
A63F 100

A full game round is played, and then the relative rankings of the front and back hands are determined, identifying both highest ranked and second highest ranked hands among the frontline front hands, the frontline back hands, the backline front hands, and the backline back hands. Method Of Playing Asian High-Low Card Game

US Patent:
5628514, May 13, 1997
Filed:
Dec 19, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/574645
Inventors:
Son H. Nguyen - Fountain Valley CA
Hai Q. Huynh - San Jose CA
International Classification:
A63F 100
US Classification:
273292
Abstract:
The method of playing a card game using a card deck of 360 cards which consists of 15 modified conventional decks. Each modified conventional deck has all seven, eight, nine, ten, jack, queen, and king cards removed therefrom. Thus, each modified conventional deck comprises only 24 cards. The card game is played according to either a high winning scheme wherein the best hand is a point total of twelve and the worst hand is a point total of two, or a low winning scheme wherein the best hand is a point total of two and the worst hand is a point total of twelve. The banker may arbitrarily choose either winning scheme, the chosen winning scheme being common to all the players and banker. After the winning scheme is determined, the first round of two cards is dealt face down to all players (betting players and banker). The players add the values of the cards in their hands.

Method Of Playing A Wagering Game

US Patent:
5873572, Feb 23, 1999
Filed:
Oct 6, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/944272
Inventors:
Hai Q. Huynh - San Jose CA
International Classification:
A63F 100
US Classification:
273292
Abstract:
A method of playing a wagering game 20 between a plurality of players includes dealing four-card hands from a standard 52 card deck to each player, including a player-banker. The cards have numerical values, ace equals one, face cards equal ten, and two through ten equal their respective face values. The players are afforded the opportunity to (a) draw one additional card, or (b) stand with the dealt cards. The object of the game 20 is to have three cards which total to one of ten, twenty, or thirty. The winning hand is then determined by either (a) the fourth card with the highest numerical value, or (b) the least significant digit of the total of the fourth and fifth cards with the highest numerical value. If neither player has three cards which total to one of ten, twenty, or thirty, then the hand is a push and no wager 500 is won by either player.

Filed:
Oct 6, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/944327
Inventors:
Hai Q. Huynh - San Jose CA
International Classification:
A63F 100
US Classification:
273292
Abstract:
A method of playing a wagering game 20 between a plurality of players includes first determining if the hand is to be played even or odd, and then dealing two-card hands from a standard 52 card deck to each player, including a player-banker. The cards have numerical values, ace equals one, face cards equal zero, and two through ten equal their respective face values. The players are afforded the opportunity to (a) draw one additional card, or (b) stand with the dealt cards. The object of the game 20 is to have the highest least significant digit of the total of the cards, either two or three cards as may be the case, and to have the least significant digit (LSD) be even if the hand is played even or have LSD be odd if the hand is played odd. If the least significant digit of the total of the cards of neither player is even if even was selected, or is odd if odd was selected, the hand is a push (tie) and no wager 500 is won by either player.
