SSAE 16 Type 2 certification for our data centers and operations
American Institute of CPAs.
ISOMEDIA is pleased to announce that we have acquired SSAE 16 Type 2 certification for our data centers and operations. SSAE (Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements) 16 replaces the original standard, SAS 70, for nationally recognized reporting on controls for service organizations. SSAE 16 was formally issued in April 2010 with an effective date of June 15, 2011. Having met the most current national compliance requirements, ISOMEDIA is now verified as the best choice for the security needs of your organization when it comes to data center and Internet services. What is SSAE 16? In short, a SSAE 16 audit reports on the design and effectiveness of a service provider’s controls relevant to customers’ financial and security reporting. The former AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) standard, SAS 70, did not set standards for data center excellence; it just reported on the controls and processes in place as described by a data center. The new AICPA standard, SSAE 16, strengthens the report by providing criteria for the evaluation of controls and processes. A Type 1 audit determines the effectiveness of the service provider’s controls according to the service provider’s description and assertion. A Type 2 audit determines the effectiveness of the controls and tests the accuracy of the service provider’s description and assertion, as well as the implementation and effectiveness of controls over a specific period of time. ISOMEDIA’s controls and processes have been evaluated and tested by third party auditors over the last few months to receive the SSAE 16 Type 2 certification that they meet standards for excellence set by the AICPA. ISOMEDIA is happy to bring this added benefit and compliance verification to our customers. If you have further questions, please contact your Sales Executive for more information.

Sensing Events Affecting Liquid Flow In A Liquid Distribution System

US Patent:
8457908, Jun 4, 2013
Filed:
Jun 11, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/483041
Inventors:
Shwetak N. Patel - Seattle WA, US
James A. Fogarty - Seattle WA, US
Jon E. Froehlich - Seattle WA, US
Eric C. Larson - Seattle WA, US
Assignee:
University of Washington - Seattle WA
International Classification:
G01L 7/00
US Classification:
702 51, 702 50, 702189
Abstract:
By monitoring pressure transients in a liquid within a liquid distribution system using only a single sensor, events such as the opening and closing of valves at specific fixtures are readily detected. The sensor, which can readily be coupled to a faucet bib, transmits an output signal to a computing device. Each such event can be identified by the device based by comparing characteristic features of the pressure transient waveform with previously observed characteristic features for events in the system. These characteristic features, which can include the varying pressure, derivative, and real Cepstrum of the pressure transient waveform, can be used to select a specific fixture where a valve open or close event has occurred. Flow to each fixture and leaks in the system can also be determined from the pressure transient signal. A second sensor disposed at a point disparate from the first sensor provides further event information.
