Optical Security Sensor For A Door

US Patent:
2009002, Jan 29, 2009
Filed:
Jul 25, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/782673
Inventors:
William S. DiPoala - Fairport NY, US
David Anderson - Rochester NY, US
Jeffrey Swan - Rochester NY, US
International Classification:
G08B 13/08
US Classification:
3405452
Abstract:
A security assembly includes a first building structure at least partially defining a building opening. The first building structure has a first surface. A movable building structure is movable between a closed position in which the movable building structure covers the opening and an open position in which the movable building structure uncovers the opening. The movable building structure has a perimeter with a second surface disposed in opposition to the first surface when the movable building structure is in the closed position. An optical sensor apparatus includes an electronics module mounted in association with the first surface or the second surface. The electronics module has an optical emitter and an optical receiver. The optical emitter emits a first beam. A reflector arrangement is mounted in association with the other of the first surface and the second surface. The reflector arrangement provides a plurality of sequential reflections of the first beam to thereby produce a second beam directed at the optical receiver.

Filed:
Jan 7, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/349782
Inventors:
David Anderson - Rochester NY, US
William DiPoala - Fairport NY, US
Jeffrey Swan - Rochester NY, US

International Classification:
G06M 7/00
US Classification:
250221, 340541, 3405451, 3405453
Abstract:
A security sensor apparatus senses movement of an object. The sensor apparatus includes an electronics arrangement having an optical emitter and an optical receiver. The optical receiver has an axis of reception. The optical emitter emits a first beam along an axis of emission in an emission direction. The axis of emission diverges in the emission direction from the axis of reception at an angle of at least two degrees. The electronics arrangement is mounted in association a first surface of the object or a second surface of a structure disposed in opposition to the first surface. A reflector arrangement includes at least one reflective surface and is mounted in association with the other of the first surface and the second surface. The at least one reflective surface receives at least a portion of the first beam and produces a second beam directed at and received by the optical receiver.

Control Valve For Vacuum Sheet Feeding Apparatus

US Patent:
4168829, Sep 25, 1979
Filed:
Jun 20, 1977
Appl. No.:
5/807991
Inventors:
William C. Wilson - Rochester NY
David B. Anderson - Rochester NY
Assignee:
Eastman Kodak Company - Rochester NY
International Classification:
B65H 310
US Classification:
271108
Abstract:
A mechanism for positioning a control valve for an oscillating vacuum feeder which automatically adjusts the position of the control valve in relation to the width of the sheets to be fed. The mechanism includes at least one coupler member selectively engageable by the side guides which align the opposing marginal edges of the stack of sheets to be fed from a sheet supply hopper. The control valve, located within the oscillating vacuum feeder adjacent the outboard ports thereof, has an outwardly extending arm which passes through a longitudinal slot in the feeder. The arm is captured by the coupler member whereby movement of the side guides will be directly imparted to the valve through the coupler member to position the valve for controlling opening or closing of the outboard ports.
