Embodiments of methods, systems, and apparatuses for generating a composited multimedia-based report are described. In one embodiment, a method includes capturing a medical image configured to be displayed on a medical image display device. The present methods may be independent of the medical image display, and may be able to capture images from any proprietary medical image viewer. The method may also include capturing description data related to the medical image. Additionally, the method may include processing the medical image and the description data related to the medical image on a data processing device. Also, the method may include storing the medical image and the description data related to the medical image in a data storage device.

Abstract:
An apparatus and method are provided for use in studying a patient's bowel which combines recording and analysis of physiologic parameters and patient sensory perception. A pain input detector, a pain transducer, and a processor are provided. A gas pressure transducer and flow meter may also be provided. Output data may be generated to reflect perceived patient pain, volume of gas delivered to the patient's bowel, and bowel pressure. An indication of perceived patient pain is processed by the processor to generate data that may used to validate a scan of a patient or may be used as a diagnostic tool.

Abstract:
An apparatus and method are provided for use in administering a rectal contrast enema to a patient to prepare the patient for a medical procedure. A rectal catheter may be provided to facilitate administration of the enema preparation to the patient. The rectal catheter may include a retention balloon. A delivery mechanism may be provided to urge the enema preparation into the patient. A vacuum may be provided to remove waste from the patient. A gas insufflator may be provided to insufflate the patient's colon for a medical procedure such as a scan, and more specifically, a virtual colonoscopy.
