US Patent:

Filed:
Dec 1, 1987
Appl. No.:
7/127254
Inventors:
David R. Adams - Salt Lake City UT
International Classification:
B65D 8518
US Classification:
2062871
Abstract:
A foldable, suitcase-garment bag has flexible, elongate, substantially rectangular front and rear panels secured together to form an interior, garment bag like space between the panels. The bag is adapted to be folded into three overlapping sections and secured in such folded condition wherein the bag is configured similarly to a suitcase. Bottom means are provided to act as a bottom for the bag when in folded condition and a plurality of pockets are provided in at least the front panel of the bag, separate pockets being located in separate sections of the bag when folded. The pockets located in one section of the bag are adapted to expand inwardly into the interior space of the bag when filled while the pockets located in another section of the bag are adapted to expand outwardly when filled, thereby facilitating the folding of the bag into overlapping sections.

Carrying Case For Personal Items

US Patent:
5020673, Jun 4, 1991
Filed:
Mar 15, 1990
Appl. No.:
7/495737
Inventors:
David R. Adams - Salt Lake City UT
International Classification:
B65D 6900
US Classification:
206581
Abstract:
A carrying case for carrying personal items includes three hinged, generally planar, semi-rigid panel members having a plurality of pockets thereon to receive and hold items to be carried. The members may be folded to a folded or closed condition wherein the members overlap one another in side-by-side configuration to form a relatively compact case during transportation and storage or the members may be unfolded to an open condition to allow access to the members and to support the members in an upright position. In the open, upright position, the invention serves as a conveniently accessed dispenser for its contents. In the closed position, the invention conforms in general shape to its contents, thus taking up less space than a rigid case when not full, yet offering protection to the contents. The pockets of the case can include transparent windows so that a user can see what is in a pocket without having to open the pocket and remove the contents.
