Appl. No.:
13/177443
Inventors:
David D. Lin - San Jose CA, US
Chih Chiang Ho - Fremont CA, US
Assignee:
INSCAPE DATA CORPORATION - San Jose CA
International Classification:
H05K 5/02
US Classification:
174 5052
Abstract:
An apparatus for an electrical equipment enclosure with tubular and/or multi-hole gland weatherproofing of electrical connections is disclosed. In one embodiment of the invention, one or more weatherproofing tubes and/or one or more multi-hole glands attached to the lid incorporating one or more openings are configured to serve as passageways for one or more electrical lines which need to stay weatherproof, watertight, and/or splash-proof from external elements. Furthermore, in one embodiment of the invention, one or more clusters of electrical connecters inside the electrical equipment enclosure receive a portion of the one or more electrical lines passing through one or more openings and one or more weatherproofing tubes and/or multi-hole glands. The apparatus as embodied by the present invention provides a reliable, durable and cost-effective weatherproof electrical equipment enclosure design.

Circuit And Method For Normalizing And Rounding Floating-Point Results And Processor Incorporating The Circuit Or The Method

Circuit And Method For Normalizing And Rounding Floating-Point Results And Processor Incorporating The Circuit Or The Method

US Patent:
7062525, Jun 13, 2006
Filed:
Aug 30, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/232001
Inventors:
David H. Lin - San Jose CA, US
Assignee:
LSI Logic Corporation - Milpitas CA
International Classification:
G06F 5/01
US Classification:
708497
Abstract:
For use in a floating-point unit that supports floating-point formats having fractional parts of varying widths and employs a datapath wider than the fractional parts, a circuit and method for normalizing and rounding floating-point results and processor incorporating the circuit or the method. In one embodiment, the circuit includes: (1) left-shift circuitry for aligning a fractional part of the floating-point result with a most significant bit of the datapath and irrespective of a width of the fractional part to yield a shifted fractional part and (2) rounding circuitry, coupled to the shift circuitry, that rounds the shifted fractional part.

Single Bit Per-Voice Dry/Wet Reverb Control

Single Bit Per-Voice Dry/Wet Reverb Control

US Patent:
7599501, Oct 6, 2009
Filed:
Jul 30, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/903069
Inventors:
Ben Sferrazza - Sunnyvale CA, US
David Lin - San Jose CA, US
Assignee:
LSI Corporation - Milpitas CA
International Classification:
H03G 3/00, G10H 1/02
US Classification:
381 63, 84630
Abstract:
A dry/wet bit for controlling dry and wet components of an output sound during processing of an input sound is provided. The bit is configurable by a program to indicate when to reverse the dry and wet components of the output sound. When the bit has a first value, the dry component is calculated by modifying the input sound by an attenuation factor, and the wet component is calculated by providing to a reverberation filter as input the dry component modified by a reverberation factor. When the bit has a second value, the wet component is calculated by providing to the reverberation filter as input the input sound modified by the attenuation factor, and the dry component is calculated by modifying the input to the reverberation filter by the reverberation factor.

Method And System For Simplifying Wiring In A Modular Communications Gateway

Method And System For Simplifying Wiring In A Modular Communications Gateway

US Patent:
2003002, Jan 30, 2003
Filed:
Aug 30, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/944451
Inventors:
Frank Koperda - Suwanee GA, US
David Lin - San Jose CA, US
Jeff Zalewski - Novato CA, US
Jason Hsieh - Hsinchu, TW
International Classification:
H02B001/00
US Classification:
361/600000
Abstract:
The invention simplifies the wiring changes needed in a modular communications device as new modules are added to a system and it reduces the initial cost of the base unit. When a module, which contains an additional communications function is added to an existing system, it often becomes necessary to move a communications cable from the existing unit to the new module that has been added. This invention avoids the need of such a cable change, and reduces the costs of having connectors on the new module, and provides scaleable costs that are incurred only as modules are required.

Sound Processor Architecture Using Single Port Memory Unit

Sound Processor Architecture Using Single Port Memory Unit

US Patent:
7587310, Sep 8, 2009
Filed:
Aug 30, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/931151
Inventors:
David H. Lin - San Jose CA, US
Assignee:
LSI Corporation - Milpitas CA
International Classification:
G10L 13/04, G06F 13/00
US Classification:
704200, 704258, 711147, 711167
Abstract:
A system and method for implementing a sound processor. The sound processor includes a first voice engine, a second voice engine, and at least one single-port memory unit. An operation of the first voice engine and an operation of the second voice engine are time offset, wherein the time offset enables the first and second voice engines to share the at least one memory unit without contention. This results in cost savings and power consumption savings due to the smaller area needed for the memories.

Method And System For A Modular Residential Gateway

Method And System For A Modular Residential Gateway

US Patent:
2002006, May 30, 2002
Filed:
Feb 26, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/794809
Inventors:
Frank Koperda - Suwanee GA, US
David Lin - San Jose CA, US
International Classification:
G06F015/173, G06F015/16
US Classification:
709/238000, 709/230000
Abstract:
The invention is a scalable modular network system, without a fixed size enclosure, that may include many kinds of voice and data components. In operation, the invention provides trans-coding transparency allowing effective communications between dissimilar data/voice data streams. The modular system includes unique power control and distribution methods. The invention also provides the methods to simplify network-provisioning tasks because of the method of intelligently determining network information. The placement of the invention is not required to be in a central wiring location because the gateway system automatic adapts to having its components in distributed physical locations.
