âÃÂÃÂMeasure of biceps-brachii electrical activity and fatigue during vibration exercises at different frequenciesâÃÂÃÂ.
The project consisted of investigating the effects of a new kind of muscle training that uses mechanical vibrations. I modified an existing fitness machine in order to transmit vibrations. I wrote the LabVIEW code that accurately controlled the machine. This software also processed electromyographic data from the muscles, allowing me to understand the muscular activity due to the vibrations. This study was the first to investigate the effects of vibrations in an accurate manner and demonstrate that they enhance muscular activity. Specifically, exercises with vibrations are 20 to 27% more tiring than traditional exercises without vibrations.

âÃÂÃÂDevelopment of an impedance meter for ultrasound probesâÃÂÃÂ.
I used an AWG and an oscilloscope interfaced with a PCB I built from scratch. I developed the data collection and the user interface in LabVIEW. The system, built with low-end components, estimates magnitude impedance with an accuracy within 6% of that of high-precision impedance meters. The impedance phase estimation is slightly higher but usually within 10% of the high-precision impedance meters.
