Radiation Oncology is, first and foremost, an exercise in caring for others. People with cancer very often feel that they have lost something of themselves as a result of seeing multiple doctors and, in essence becoming "a case" rather than a person. One of my most important roles as a cancer specialist is to care for my patients as real people who have lives, relationships, feelings and concerns. At that same time. my mission is also to provide the latest and most advanced treatments. I'm excited about the advances that have been made are are being made in Radiation Oncology, because they give us new ways to help patients and enable them to get back to their lives. After all, this is my objective as a cancer physician.
