Abstract:
A medical anastomosis sling for use in the repair or regeneration of nerves. Nerve ends are placed in a breathable semiporous membrane having sets of elongate and wide tabs which are secured and sealed around the ends via circumferential fasteners and surgical clips for securing and sealing the sling in position without the necessity of suturing the device for optimal anastomosis.

Abstract:
A surgical microclip particularly adapted for microvascular anastomoses is described as including a pair of arcuate legs interconnected by a bridging section. The clip is formed of a unitary piece of biologically acceptable, plastically deformable material, and further has two spaced "ears" to facilitate handling and removal of the clip. Also disclosed is a tool for applying the clip, comprising a tweezer-like device having a pair of arms for crimping the microclip, with a fine suction conduit extending along a bisector of the angle between the arms to hold the clip prior to crimping.

Abstract:
A forceps for holding and everting vessels in an anastomosis procedure includes three cooperating jaws mounted at the ends of respective relatively movable legs. The legs can be independently manipulated in order to secure and evert first one vessel, then another in apposition to the first, so that clips or sutures can be applied to complete the anastomosis.
