Machine Foundation And Method For Preparing Or Repairing A Machine Foundation

US Patent:
5165651, Nov 24, 1992
Filed:
Dec 10, 1990
Appl. No.:
7/625293
Inventors:
William L. Welch - Houston TX
Don W. Sluder - Lake Jackson TX
Wallace D. Hill - Deerpark TX
Assignee:
APT, Inc. - Cypress TX
International Classification:
F16M 900
US Classification:
248678
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a hollow form which is to be used as a machine foundation. The form is made of an aggregate filled thermosetting resin or a thermoplastic resin which are corrosion and chemical resistant materials free from fluid attack such as the liquids used in the machine, for example, in a pump either the lubricating fluids or the fluids being pumped. More particularly, the present invention is directed to a hollow form which may be used either to prepare a machine foundation or to repair a degraded slab or foundation and preferably is a single form. The preferred form has vertical walls and a single, top horizontal wall through which polymeric concrete can be poured to fill the form. An alternative form may be made of two pieces.

Assignee:
Welch-Sluder IP Partners - Houston TX
International Classification:
B32B 3500, E04B 116
US Classification:
264 34
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a method for preparing or repairing a machine foundation by using a hollow form which surrounds vertically extending reinforcement rods and is filled with a fortifying material to secure the hollow form to a slab. The form is preferably made of an aggregate filled thermosetting resin or a thermoplastic resin which are corrosion and chemical resistant materials free from fluid attack such as the liquids in the machine, for example, in a pump the fluids being either the lubricating fluids or the fluids being pumped. More particularly, the present invention is directed to a hollow form which may be used either to prepare a machine foundation or to repair a degraded slab or foundation and preferably is a single form.

Reusable Mold For Forming Premolded Pieces And A Modular Contained Machine Foundation

US Patent:
5419529, May 30, 1995
Filed:
Aug 30, 1993
Appl. No.:
8/113388
Inventors:
William L. Welch - Houston TX
Don W. Sluder - Lake Jackson TX
Richard L. Cory - Lake Jackson TX
Assignee:
APT, Inc. - Cypress TX
International Classification:
B29C 3926
US Classification:
249134
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to reusable molds which are used to mold various pieces including a modular contained machine foundation unit. Most pieces are molded as a hollow form which surrounds vertically extending reinforcement rods and is filled with a fortifying material to secure the hollow form to a slab. The hollow form is preferably made of an aggregate filled thermosetting resin which is a corrosion and chemical resistant material. More particularly, the present invention is directed to unique products which may be easily secured to a slab or foundation.

Reuseable Mold For Forming A Hollow Aggregate Filled Thermoset Article

US Patent:
5240223, Aug 31, 1993
Filed:
Dec 31, 1991
Appl. No.:
7/816150
Inventors:
William L. Welch - Houston TX
Don W. Sluder - Lake Jackson TX
Richard L. Cory - Lake Jackson TX
Assignee:
Apt, Inc. - Cypress TX
International Classification:
B29C 3900
US Classification:
249 63
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a reuseable mold for casting a hollow form made of an aggregate filled thermosetting resin. The reuseable mold includes an outer mold, made from sheets of thermoplastic resin, and an inner mold, also made from sheets of thermoplastic resin, having a base with plugable opening(s) for connecting an air supply for popping the inner mold from the cast hollow form fabricated in the reuseable mold. The sheets are preferably 1" sheets of polyethylene.
