Electrical Contact For Interconnect Member

US Patent:
8562359, Oct 22, 2013
Filed:
Jan 18, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/008643
Inventors:
Jeffery Walter Mason - North Attleboro MA, US
William Brian Murphy - Brockton MA, US
Assignee:
Tyco Electronics Corporation - Berwyn PA
International Classification:
H01R 12/00
US Classification:
439 66
Abstract:
An electrical contact is provided. The electrical contact includes an integrally-formed body having a mating segment, a mounting segment, and a pair of arms interconnect the mating segment and the mounting segment. The arms extend along helical paths for at least some distance as the arms extend from the mating segment to the mounting segment.

Electrical Interconnect Device

US Patent:
2012025, Oct 11, 2012
Filed:
Apr 5, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/080505
Inventors:
JEFFERY W. MASON - NORTH ATTLEBORO MA, US
WILLIAM B. MURPHY - BROCKTON MA, US
Assignee:
TYCO ELECTRONICS CORPORATION - BERWYN PA
International Classification:
H05K 7/02
US Classification:
361807
Abstract:
An electrical interconnect device includes a frame having frame walls that define a socket that extends along a socket axis between an open top and an open bottom of the frame. The socket is configured to receive an electronic package through the open top. The electrical interconnect device also includes a contact assembly having an insulative carrier that holds an array of conductive elastomeric columns with each of the elastomeric columns having opposite first and second ends. The elastomeric columns are internally conductive between the first and second ends. The elastomeric columns are configured to electrically interconnect the electronic package to a second electronic component. The insulative carrier is configured to float within the frame in a direction generally parallel to the socket axis.

Interconnect Device

US Patent:
2013033, Dec 12, 2013
Filed:
Jun 11, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/493778
Inventors:
Jeffery Walter Mason - North Attleboro MA, US
William Brian Murphy - Brockton MA, US
Assignee:
Tyco Electronics Corporation - Berwyn PA
International Classification:
H01R 13/64
US Classification:
439374
Abstract:
An interconnect device includes a contact assembly having a carrier holding an array of conductors. Each of the conductors have opposite first and second ends configured to engage corresponding first and second electrical components. The conductors define conductive paths between the first and second ends to electrically interconnect the first and second electrical components. The interconnect device includes a frame defining a receiving space configured to receive the first electrical component therein. The frame includes corner frames having metal spring fingers configured to engage different side edges of the first electrical component to locate the first electrical component in the receiving space. The spring fingers are deflectable and are configured to be spring biased against corresponding side edges of the first electrical component.

Card Edge Connector

US Patent:
2013008, Apr 4, 2013
Filed:
Sep 30, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/249945
Inventors:
Jeffery Walter MASON - North Attleboro MA, US
William Brian MURPHY - Brockton MA, US
Assignee:
Tyco Electronics Corporation - Berwyn PA
International Classification:
H01R 24/00, H05K 1/02
US Classification:
439637, 174254
Abstract:
A card edge connector for mating to a flex circuit includes a housing having a front, a top and a bottom. The housing has a slot between the top and the bottom. The slot is open at the front. The slot is configured to receive a flex circuit therein. Upper contacts are held by the housing between the slot and the top. The upper contacts are exposed in the slot for mating with an upper surface of the flex circuit. Lower contacts are held by the housing between the slot and the bottom. The lower contacts are exposed in the slot for mating with a lower surface of the flex circuit.
