Switching Arrangements And Accessories Capable Of Activation By Air

US Patent:
7326101, Feb 5, 2008
Filed:
Feb 3, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/357536
Inventors:
Robert W. Engel - Thousand Oaks CA, US
Robert Stephen Lee - Simi Valley CA, US
Steve G. Fouke - Marina Del Rey CA, US
John Rey Hollis - Topanga CA, US
William John Kelley - Arroyo Grande CA, US
International Classification:
A63H 33/40

Biased Releasable Connection System

US Patent:
2011022, Sep 22, 2011
Filed:
Sep 3, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/993235
Inventors:
Jeffrey James Corsiglia - Toronto, CA
William Kelley - Arroyo Grande CA, US
International Classification:
F41B 7/00, F16B 21/00
US Classification:
124 16, 403326, 403327
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to providing a biased releasable connection system that is compact, lightweight, inexpensive and low-power. The system comprises a releasable object that is biased against a retaining mechanism until the connection is released. The system further comprises a small and lightweight shape memory alloy member to actuate the release of the connection. When the connection is released, the biasing mechanism propels the releasable object in a particular direction. The compact design of the system is partly attributable to the strategic utilization and positioning of the shape memory member within the system.

Puzzle Toy

US Patent:
6203013, Mar 20, 2001
Filed:
Feb 4, 1999
Appl. No.:
9/244998
Inventors:
J. Gregory Nitsche - Silver Spring MD
William J. Kelley - Arroyo Grande CA
Lawrence Mass - Rye Brook NY
Assignee:
Mass Market Ideas LLC - Rye Brook NY
International Classification:
A63F 110, A63F 908
US Classification:
273153R
Abstract:
A puzzle toy is composed of a plurality of relatively thin puzzle pieces having at least one image formed on their edges and a pair of holder members for holding the puzzle pieces. Each of the edges of the puzzle pieces has a different portion of an image disposed thereon so that when the edges of the puzzle pieces are arranged in a predetermined order the image is formed thereon. The puzzle toy also includes a puzzle piece holder having a first holder member in which the puzzle pieces may be at least partially disposed and a second holder member. One of the holder members has an opening formed therein, and the holder members are configurable in a storage position in which the puzzle pieces are retained within the holder members while allowing the image to be viewed through the opening and in which the puzzle pieces are retained within the holder members regardless of the orientation of the puzzle piece holder. The holder members are also configurable in a puzzle-solving position in which the second holder member is disposed in a horizontal position and in which the first holder member is disposed at an angled position.

Beach Wave Playset

US Patent:
6852000, Feb 8, 2005
Filed:
Feb 10, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/361949
Inventors:
Robert Stephen Lee - Simi Valley CA, US
Robert William Engel - Thousand Oaks CA, US

The playset can have a beach member, a wave member, and a pivot axle for enabling the wave member to pivot into and out of proximity with the beach member. Decorative elements, such as surfboards, dolls, and inner tubes, can be retained relative to the wave member and can be moved, such as by a drive wheel and motion conversion assembly combination, during a pivoting of the wave member to enable a realistic wave riding simulation. A plurality of water panels can simulate an underlying water surface. The wave member could be moved manually or by a motor arrangement, and electronic play effects could be induced in response to a movement of the wave member.
