Level Propelled Wheelchair

US Patent:
6234504, May 22, 2001
Filed:
Mar 21, 2000
Appl. No.:
9/509088
Inventors:
William G. Taylor - San Antonio TX
International Classification:
B62M 199
US Classification:
2802501
Abstract:
A lever propelled wheelchair, the lever having two push levers attached to two front drive sprockets. The two levers propel the two main rear wheels of the wheelchairs through chains connecting the front sprockets to gear clusters mounted on the rear axles. Ratchet mechanisms allow each push lever to transmit power to the drive sprockets in either a forward or reverse direction. Derailers are mounted at each axle and are activated by a shifter mechanism mounted on the push levers. Brakes are mounted on the frame beside each wheel and activated by a hand break lever mounted on the push levers.

Quadracycle

US Patent:
7344146, Mar 18, 2008
Filed:
Aug 4, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/196390
Inventors:
William Gregory Taylor - San Antonio TX, US
International Classification:
B62M 1/14
US Classification:
280246, 280247, 280248, 280296, 2802501, 280251, 2802421
Abstract:
The improved wheelchair employs the use of two push levers attached to two forward drive gears, and two reverse drive gears, which propel the two main rear wheels of the chair through bicycle chains connecting the front drive gears to sprocket clusters mounted on the rear wheel axles. Direction control mechanisms allow the user to engage either forward or reverse drive gears, or disengage both, thereby producing forward, neutral, and reverse motion. Derailers are mounted behind each rear axle and are activated by shifter mechanisms mounted on the push levers. Disc brakes are mounted on the frame beside each wheel and activated by hand brake levers mounted on the push levers.

Doppler Helmet

US Patent:
2006012, Jun 8, 2006
Filed:
Dec 6, 2004
Appl. No.:
11/005514
Inventors:
William Taylor - San Antonio TX, US
International Classification:
A61B 8/14
US Classification:
600459000
Abstract:
A helmet manufactured for one specific person, made from rigid synthetic materials, to specifications determined by data obtained from a previously obtained MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scan of that person's brain, intracranial arteries, and skull. The helmet and its attached adapters hold in place various Doppler probes directed at specific arteries, both intra-cranial and extra-cranial, to provide continuous readings of the velocity of the blood flow through those arteries.

Nuclear Locomotive

US Patent:
2009028, Nov 19, 2009
Filed:
May 14, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/152245
Inventors:
William Gregory Taylor - San Antonio TX, US
International Classification:
B60L 11/00, B60L 13/04, B60B 19/00
US Classification:
104281, 180 6531, 280 29
Abstract:
This device is a magnetically levitated (maglev) locomotive powered by an onboard nuclear reactor. The locomotive carries a small portable nuclear reactor that heats a fluid to boiling, and passes it through electric turbine engines to produce electric power. The fluid/steam then recirculates through cooling radiators condensing it back to liquid before it passes back into the reactors again. The electric power is used to power and cool the onboard electromagnets, which oppose passive permanent magnets or magnetic coils in the roadbed. The onboard reactor is capable of providing greater electrical power than previously described maglev systems. This, in turn, provides greater power to the superconducting electromagnets, which translates into greater lift capacity and greater speed.

Ankle Bolster

US Patent:
7188382, Mar 13, 2007
Filed:
Dec 13, 2004
Appl. No.:
11/010655
Inventors:
Eleanor L. Taylor - San Antonio TX, US
William Gregory Taylor - San Antonio TX, US
International Classification:
A61G 7/075
US Classification:
5648, 5652, 56559, 128882
Abstract:
This device is made to protect the bony surfaces of a foot from prolonged pressure and ultimate skin breakdown. It consists of a cylinder of dense foam that is fitted to encompass the lower leg of a user from the knee to the ankle. When in place on the leg a of a user lying in bed, it will support the lower leg such that the foot will not be in contact with the firm surface of the bed, thus providing total pressure relief to the foot. The user can also lie in any position, even prone, with out interference from this device.
