I am a past Advisory board chairman for the Newport Salvation Army. I am the present Board president for the Newport County Boys and Girls Club. I am on the race committee for the Newport Shields Fleet. A member of the Newport Hibernians, Newport Elks, and the Newport Knights of Columbas. When I am not sailing I enjoy tennis, soccer, hockey and swimming.

I was born and raised in Belmont Massachusetts, a small town a few miles West of of Boston. Both of my parents are from Newport, so holidays and summers were spent in Newport and I became a Newport resident officially in 1982 after studying Civil Engineering at Syracuse University and meeting my wife, Sabra O'Hanley, then Sabra Kane. In 1985 I purchased my grandfathers construction business and continue to run that business to this day. Through that business and being in the Real Estate profession, I have worked on over 12 thousand properties and condominiums in Newport County. Sabra and I have an 18 year old daughter that is going to Providence College and a 14 year old son that will be starting high school next year.<br />Over the years I have provided clients with construction options and advice with properties that they had either just purchased or were about to purchase, and it dawned on me that it was time to work directly with those clients as a Real Estate professional. I became a licensee real estate agent in 2004 and since then my focus has been working with people buying commercial and residential real estate.<br />The move to becoming a Real Estate Professional is a natural fit with my extensive knowledge with all types of repairs and maintenance to the many types of Newport architecture. My clients have commented that with my local knowledge combined with providing all of the information that they need to make an informed decision is second to none, as well as my ability to see all of the potential that a property may provide.<br />I am a past Advisory board chairman for the Newport Salvation Army.
