Remote Actuation Testing Tool For High Pressure Differential Downhole Environments

Remote Actuation Testing Tool For High Pressure Differential Downhole Environments

US Patent:
2012018, Jul 26, 2012
Filed:
Dec 19, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/329462
Inventors:
Wei Wang - Sugar Land TX, US
Colin Longfield - Sugar Land TX, US
David Merlau - Friendswood TX, US
Sebastian Ives - Pearland TX, US
Brad Bailey - Katy TX, US
Belinda D. Manning - Pearland TX, US
International Classification:
E21B 34/06, E21B 34/00
US Classification:
166373, 166321
Abstract:
A remote actuation tool equipped with an intermediate volumetric mechanism for enhanced tool durability in high pressure differential downhole environments. Valve segments of the tool are actuated by power available due to a pressure differential between atmospheric and hydrostatic chambers of the tool. Yet, the intermediate volumetric mechanism, whether in the form of a discrete chamber or a hydraulic line system, minimizes stresses of the differential pressure on tool hydraulics. Thus, failure rates are substantially reduced. So, for example, the tool may be reliably employed in downhole environments which present differential pressures in excess of about 30,000 PSI.

Imaging Agents And Methods

Imaging Agents And Methods

US Patent:
2010029, Nov 18, 2010
Filed:
May 11, 2007
Appl. No.:
12/227185
Inventors:
Chun Li - Missouri City TX, US
Wei Wang - Sugar Land TX, US
Marites P. Melancon - Houston TX, US
Juri G. Gelovani - Houston TX, US
Jeffrey Myers - Houston TX, US
International Classification:
A61K 49/06, C07D 403/10, C12Q 1/02, A61K 49/00
US Classification:
424 93, 548455, 435 29, 424 91
Abstract:
The disclosure includes a composition including a poly(L-glutamic acid) and a NIRF dye. It also includes a method including providing to a plurality of cells an imaging agent including poly(L-glutamic acid), a NIRF dye and then imaging the cells to detect the imaging agent. It further includes a dual functional contrast agent including an MRI agent conjugated with an optical imaging agent. A method of detecting cancer is provided including injecting a dual functional contrast agent into a patient and performing both an MRI and an optical scan. The presence of the agent may indicate cancer. A method of detecting cancer by injecting PG-DTPA-Gd-NIR813 into a patient, then detecting the presence or absence of Gd in a cell or tissue of the patient and detecting the presence or absence of NIR813 in a cell or tissue of the patient is provided. The presence of Gd and NIR813 may indicate cancer.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to novel cyclic peptides that may be conjugated with imaging agents, including novel imaging agents. Specifically, it includes c(KRGDf; SEQ ID NO. 3) NIR imaging compositions and novel cyclic HWGFTL (SEQ ID NO. 5) polypeptides which may be used inter alia in NIR, MRI and nuclear imaging as well as therapy. Additionally, the invention includes novel imaging agents, such as TS-ICG derivatives. The invention also relates to methods of making and using such compounds. Such uses include both pre-operative and intraoperative detection of tumor cells and treatment monitoring.
