So, What Makes Us Unique?
Dr. Young emphasizes developing jaw size and shape as the child is growing. Most orthodontists extract permanent teeth and use braces to align the teeth. This extraction alignment procedure may produce cosmetic changes, including a small smile or a sunken profile. Sometimes the jaw joints are affected, resulting in headaches and other health problems.
In contrast, we are committed to a non-extraction philosophy; only extracting as a last resort. Early corrective treatment gives Dr. Young more options. He often uses orthopedic appliances during this stage to ensure that the permanent teeth will have enough room to come into their proper position.
Our goal is to intervene early to try to avoid any further treatment needs.
