Appl. No.:
7/189701
Inventors:
Walter Hayward - Loveland CO
International Classification:
B60Q 700
US Classification:
362 74
Abstract:
A visor-mountable emergency light system includes a housing of a size and shape to be mountable to and carried by a vehicle sunvisor. One or two portions of the housing have a conformation receptive of a strobotron exposed for directing light outwardly away from the housing. Another portion of the housing is conformed to define a cavity within which is located a firing unit mounted and connected to cyclically ignite the strobotron. The strobotron includes a light-transmissive lens that has a central area which transmits light of one or more specific colors and a peripheral area which transmits at least primarily uncolored light.

Display Systems

US Patent:
4630029, Dec 16, 1986
Filed:
Jan 22, 1985
Appl. No.:
6/693020
Inventors:
Walter Hayward - Loveland CO
International Classification:
B60Q 100
US Classification:
340 87
Abstract:
An opening is formed into the generally flat roof of a vehicle, and a hollow frame matches to the top of that opening. Overlying the frame is a generally flat panel of matching size and shape therewith, with the panel being hingedly secured along one edge to the corresponding portion of the frame. An adjustable connection exists between another portion of the panel and the frame to swing the panel between a first position in which the panel is latched, enclosing the opening, and a second position in which the panel is tilted upwardly away from the roof. At least one or two display devices are in the form of a comparatively shallow box which may lie with a major surface substantially against the upper surface of the panel so as to visually present a shallow profile. The device is hinged at one margin to the panel, and the panel carries a handle operable from within the interior of the vehicle for swinging the device between storage and upright positions. Included on the panel are a partially encircling rib for concealment purposes, a ridge for combatting freezing conditions and various other details which may be desirable.

Lamp Assembly

US Patent:
3949218, Apr 6, 1976
Filed:
Apr 28, 1975
Appl. No.:

Tumbling Apparatus

US Patent:
4206573, Jun 10, 1980
Filed:
Jan 2, 1979
Appl. No.:
6/000579
Inventors:
Walter W. Hayward - Loveland CO
International Classification:
B24B 3102
US Classification:
511641
Abstract:
Apparatus for tumbling rocks or the like has a generally-cylindrical canister with a longitudinal axis and a transverse axis that intersects that longitudinal axis at a right angle thereto. The canister is mounted so as to revolve around its longitudinal axis, and the canister is driven in revolution around the axis. The orientation of the longitudinal axis is adjustable between a first position wherein that axis remains in a horizontal plane as the canister revolves about the longitudinal axis and a second position wherein the longitudinal axis wobbles relative to the horizontal plane as the canister so revolves. In one form, the canister is seated within a yoke so as to revolve around its longitudinal axis, with that yoke being driven to effect its rotation about the aforementioned transverse axis. In another form, the canister is mounted within a gimbal ring within which the canister is pivotally mounted so as to rotate about its transverse axis.
