Dr. Utpal N. Sagar joined Cardiology Associates of Palm Beach in August of 2013 and is board certified in internal medicine, general cardiology, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology. His areas of interest include valvular heart disease, coronary artery disease, heart failure, hypertension, cardiomyopathies, and multimodality cardiovascular imaging. Dr. Sagar received his undergraduate degree from Nova Southeastern University, and he earned his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Thomas Jefferson University hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his cardiology fellowship at the University of Colorado in Denver. He then completed an advanced echocardiography fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He is the recipient of a number of awards and honors, including the Outstanding Clinical Fellow Award in 2011-2012 and the Blount Fellow Scholarship at the University of Colorado. He was a member of the Professionalism Committee at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in 2008. He has co-authored several book chapters and presented at national conferences.
