Listening to my patients' concerns is the most important tool I have in my practice. Just listening to a patient's entire story reveals most of the information necessary to help him or her feel better. Physical examinations and medical tests usually serve to confirm what I have already discovered by listening skills alone. Too many health care providers dismiss patients'complaints hastily. I trust that my patients are aware of their own bodily processes. 'Listen and learn' is the best philosophy.
