Philosophy:
Critical illness is usually stressful for both the patient and family members. Information transfer is critical: to the patient (when awake), to family members, to consulting physicians, and to the entire care team including nursing staff. Baystate Medical Center has been recognized with the Beacon Award for eight consecutive years. We use care bundles to achieve excellent results, and APACHE risk-stratification plus experienced staff to execute an appropriate treatment plan for each patient.
