Reveal Molding And Trim Structure

US Patent:
4825612, May 2, 1989
Filed:
Jul 6, 1987
Appl. No.:
7/069873
Inventors:
Thomas G. Tupman - Newport Beach CA
Assignee:
Fry Reglet Corporation - Alhambra CA
International Classification:
E04B 200, E04C 254
US Classification:
52371
Abstract:
A molding for drywall panels or the like has a channel to provide a reveal. To provide selected finish or color, a trim structure is provided that likewise has a channel configuration. The side walls of the trim structure and the side walls of the molding provide a sawtooth and rib structure for snap connection. The ends of the trim channel sides provide laterally outwardly extending lips to overly the end edges of the molding. The trim conceals all plaster splashings, obviating cleaning, provides selected color or finish. The desirable reveal characateristic is retained by virtue of the fact that the trim structure itself is a channel.

Plaster Control Screed

US Patent:
4785601, Nov 22, 1988
Filed:
Jun 26, 1987
Appl. No.:
7/066750
Inventors:
Thomas G. Tupman - Newport Beach CA
Assignee:
Fry Reglet Corporation - Alhambra CA
International Classification:
E04F 1316
US Classification:
52364
Abstract:
A plaster screed is made of two metal parts of uniform cross-sectional configuration. The two parts overlap, each part providing one of the sides of the channels. The first part provides a laterally projecting attaching flange as well as the channel bottom, the channel bottom being extended beneath the channel side provided by the second part as well as beneath its laterally extending attaching flange. The attaching flange of the second part is stepped so that the bottom of the screed is essentially flat. The area of the step just beyond the terminus of the first part provides a rearwardly facing groove filled with a suitable thermoplastic sealant. The sealant complements the parts to provide a flat base free of moisture traps while allowing slight relative movement between the parts for relieving stress that otherwise would build up in the plaster material.

Column Reglet

US Patent:
4574548, Mar 11, 1986
Filed:
Feb 15, 1984
Appl. No.:
6/580380
Inventors:
Thomas G. Tupman - Newport Beach CA
Assignee:
Fry Reglet Corporation - Alhambra CA
International Classification:
E04B 100, E04F 1306
US Classification:
52255
Abstract:
A two part molding structure provides a quirk or reveal about a cylindrical column, one part being a spacer ring of flexible material, and the other part being an extruded metal grounding member of simple cross sectional configuration whereby it can be preformed or bent in situ to surround the spacer ring and form therewith the channel or reveal. The grounding member either provides a channel upon which ceiling tile can rest, or an edge against which moldable material, such as plaster, can be applied.
