A reinforced workover rig mast () is disclosed. A top section () of the mast () telescopes relative to a mid section (), and includes a scoping cylinder area () for receiving a scoping cylinder () that may be used to extend and retract the top section (). A number of external gussets () are located within this scoping cylinder area () to structurally reinforce the upper section (). Other reinforcement features are incorporated by the mast () as well, including an increased width and depth, along with a reduced vertical spacing between adjacent cross supports ().

Abstract:
A service or workover rig () that does not require guy lines is disclosed. Components of the rig () include a carrier () and a mast () that is movable between transport and deployed positions. Two rear outriggers () are pivotally mounted to a bumper () of the carrier (). In their transport position, the rear outriggers () are positioned along respective sides () of the carrier (), for instance in cutouts () in the bed or decking () of the carrier (). In their deployed position, the rear outriggers () extend rearwardly of the carrier () and also away from their respective carrier side (). Each rear outrigger () may be in the form of a hollow beam.
