Cutter-Sealer And Associated Method For Cutting And Sealig Polymer Sheets

US Patent:
2008011, May 22, 2008
Filed:
Jan 24, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/019040
Inventors:
Thomas Nalle - Knoxville TN, US
International Classification:
B26D 7/10
US Classification:
083016000, 083171000
Abstract:
A cutter-sealer () and a method () for cutting and sealing layers of film () together. The cutter-sealer () provides a heated blade (), part of which moves through sheets of tautly held layers of film () into a slot defined by the seal pad (). The blade's () motion is arrested by a set of blade shoulders () that press against the layers of film () for a period of time, thereby sealing the layers of film () together. The method () provides a means of cutting layers of film () without liquefaction and a means of sealing the newly cut edges of the layers of film () together, also without liquefaction of the layers of film ().
