SKILLS Working as a CNA, the skills that I perform on a daily basis are as follows: -Intermittent catherizations -I have learned how to help Ms.Thompson in the best way possible concerning her case of Autonomic Dysreflexia. I am required to respond to the signs and symptoms of Autonomic Dysreflexia in order to assist her correctly. -I assist with Ms. Thompson with proper oral care and facial care -I have learned the body mechanics that I must strictly follow to keep Ms. Thompson and I from any potential pain/injury. -I perform assisted transfers with Ms. Thompson, making sure her body placement is just right to avoid any potential danger for her. -I obtain urine from Ms. Thompson in order to be picked up by an RN for urinalysis. -I give Ms. Thompson her daily medications and/or remind her to take her daily medications if she has acquired any new ones. -I must be very observant of Ms. Thompson's skin making sure nothing appears irregular and if something does, Ms. Thompson must immediately be informed. -I also do house keeping for Ms. Thompson in order to clear her room of potential hazards and/or barriers to prevent her from being able to exit her house. -I must also ensure that Ms. Thompson's house climate is regulated properly as she is not able to regulate her core body temperature.
