Tanya R. Sorrell, NP-C has been a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for over 9 years. She has a Master's Degree in Nursing, graduating first in her class of 225 students from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. While there she specialized in Minority and International Mental Health. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Family Psychiatric Mental- Health Nurse Practitioner. Tanya has studied International Mental Health issues and as part of her training worked in Mental Health facilities in England and Mexico. Tanya has traveled to almost every continent to study issues related to mental health care, especially pertaining to minorities. She has worked in refugee mental health missions in China and Thailand and with Indigenous groups in Australia/New Zeeland and Uruguay. In 2008, she traveled to the Dominican Republic and Haiti as part of her ongoing quest in understanding and treating the mental health needs of differing cultures.
