Abstract:
A material recovery system having a float that has a specific gravity less than material not being removed but greater than material being removed, allowing the float to remain at the interface of the materials. A tube is attached to the float so it only penetrates material being removed. An outlet end portion of the tube is attached to an inlet of a pump. When the pump is actuated the material being removed is extracted through the tube, leaving other materials behind. A windmill may be used to power the remediation system. Also disclosed is a sliding stroke reducer to adjust windmill stroke length.
