Database Driven Methods And Systems For Real Time Call Tracing

US Patent:
6765990, Jul 20, 2004
Filed:
Dec 19, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/325225
Inventors:
Steven Michael Freedman - Raleigh NC
Patrick Joseph Galizia - Cary NC
Richard James Spangler - Raleigh NC
Joseph Yu-Lung Wan - Richardson TX
Assignee:
Tekelec - Calabasas CA
International Classification:
H04M 322
US Classification:
379 3205, 379126, 379133
Abstract:
Database-driven methods and systems for database driven real time call tracing are disclosed. Signaling messages are copied from signaling link interface modules. The copied messages are sent to a database. A server located remotely from the database sends a query to the database for a real time call trace. The database is searched for messages that match the search criteria. If no messages are located in the historical data stored in the database, data entering the database is analyzed in real time.

Assignee:
Tekelec - Morrisville NC
International Classification:
H04L 12/26
US Classification:
3702362, 709223
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and computer program products for providing a distributed hardware platform interface (HPI) architecture are disclosed. According to one aspect, the subject matter described herein includes a system for providing distributed operations, administration, and maintenance (OAM) functionality in a multi-shelf processing environment. The system includes a first shelf that includes first hardware components, a second shelf that includes second hardware components, and an OAM module for providing an OAM function. The system also includes a first hardware platform interface (HPI) daemon for communicating OAM-related information between the first hardware components and the OAM module, and a second HPI daemon for communicating OAM-related information between the second hardware components and the OAM module.

Methods And Systems For Collecting And Processing Signaling System 7 (Ss7) Message Signal Units (Msus)

US Patent:
6327350, Dec 4, 2001
Filed:
Mar 28, 2000
Appl. No.:
9/537075
Inventors:
Richard James Spangler - Raleigh NC
Steven Michael Freedman - Raleigh NC
Assignee:
Tekelec - Calabasas CA
International Classification:
H04M 124, H04M 1500, H04M 342, H04M 700
US Classification:
37911501
Abstract:
A system for collecting and processing SS7 message signaling units (MSUs) includes a network interface for copying MSUs from an SS7 signaling link or a TCP/IP signaling link. A call detail record generator communicates with the link interface to receive the copied MSUs and parse the MSUs to extract desired parameters from the MSUs. An application interface kit received commands from an application to control the flow of MSU parameters to the application in real time.

Methods And Systems For Automated Analysis Of Signaling Link Utilization

US Patent:
7301910, Nov 27, 2007
Filed:
Nov 6, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/702365
Inventors:
Steven Michael Freedman - Raleigh NC, US
Assignee:
Tekelec - Morrisville NC
International Classification:
H04L 12/26, H04M 7/00, G06F 3/033
US Classification:
370252, 370522, 379219, 345157
Abstract:
Methods and systems for automated analysis of signaling link utilization are disclosed. A method for automatically analyzing signaling link utilization includes displaying signaling link utilization data to a user via a computer display device. User input regarding a portion of the link utilization data that the user desires to analyze is received. Signaling message data corresponding to the selected link utilization data is automatically extracted from a database. The signaling message data may be used to determine the cause of signaling link utilization problems.
