Philosophy:
The foundation of my practice style is patient-centered care using a shared decision-making model. I practice integrative psychiatry, making use of a variety of evidence-based treatment approaches tailored to meet a patient's individualized needs and interests. This includes treatment options such as psychopharmacology (medications), psychotherapy (talk therapy), behavior therapy, problem-solving therapy, exercise, nutriceuticals (therapeutic nutrition) and wellness coaching. When a patient's problems revolve around relationship problems, talk therapy, group therapy, and couples therapy are likely to be used. Stress-related medical symptoms and conditions often require a multi-pronged approach and care coordination with other clinicians. Maintaining privacy and confidentiality are a prime consideration. I also encourage and assist with technology-supported self-care and am open to using telehealth when applicable.
