Unitarily-Formed Grit Classifier Tank And Bearing

US Patent:
6505743, Jan 14, 2003
Filed:
Aug 31, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/652879
Inventors:
Steven D. Bandis - West Jordan UT
Assignee:
Envirotech Pumpsystems, Inc. - Salt Lake City UT
International Classification:
B03B 540
US Classification:
209173, 209464
Abstract:
A grit classifier of the type used in a variety of industrial applications to separate grit or particulate matter from a feed slurry is disclosed, the grit classifier being unitarily-formed in one or two pieces of moldable plastic or plastic-like material which renders the grit classifier more easily and cost-effectively manufactured. The grit classifier of the present invention is also advantageously easy to transport to a site, thereby further reducing the costs of use. Also disclosed is an auger beating assembly for use in the unitarily-formed grit classifier tank of the present invention which is simply structured and adaptable to any screw auger type or size.

Sensor Introducer System, Apparatus And Method

US Patent:
2004025, Dec 16, 2004
Filed:
Jun 12, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/461793
Inventors:
Steven Bandis - West Jordan UT, US
Robert Hitchcock - Sandy UT, US
International Classification:
A61B005/05
US Classification:
600/347000
Abstract:
An assembly including an introducer cannula and subcutaneous measurement device, and a method of its use. The device can form an aseptic seal to the introducer to resist passage of pathogens through the cannula. Insertion of the device into the introducer desirably causes a one-way coupling operable to force removal of the introducer and device as a single assembly. Installation of certain devices into certain introducers forms an electrical connection between an electrode carried by the introducer and system electronics. Desirably, the introducer provides a funnel-like structure operable to guide a device's probe tip into reception in the introducer's cannula.

Heat Sink Profile For Interface To Thermally Conductive Material

US Patent:
2013025, Sep 26, 2013
Filed:
Mar 22, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/426875
Inventors:
Russell J. Maxfield - Riverton UT, US
Steven D. Bandis - West Jordan UT, US
Veselin Kolev - Cupertino CA, US
Ivan P. Mollov - Mountain View CA, US
Assignee:
Varian Medical Systems, Inc. - Palo Alto CA
International Classification:
H05K 7/20, B23P 15/26, F28F 7/00
US Classification:
361718, 165185, 2989003
Abstract:
A heat sink employs a scalloped surface profile to facilitate interface to thermally conductive materials. The scalloped surface profile reduces the surface area initially as the thermally conductive material is compressed for assembly. The reduced surface area allows the required compression force to be decreased, which helps reduce the risk of damages to the heat generating devices due to excessive force. The scalloped surface profile increases the final surface area in contact with the thermally conductive material after assembly. The increased final surface area helps improve the transfer capacities of the heat sink.
