Brisket Barrier For Milking Parlors

US Patent:
5970920, Oct 26, 1999
Filed:
Jul 9, 1998
Appl. No.:
9/112237
Inventors:
Steve Peacock - Portales NM
Assignee:
P.B.I. Parlor Systems - Portales NM
International Classification:
A01K 1504
US Classification:
119738
Abstract:
A brisket barrier for milking parlors includes a transverse bar mounted for sliding movement on vertical supports. The bar has a release position at floor level, a retaining position at brisket level, and an index position where it presses rearward against the brisket. The arrangement provides for uniform positioning of cows in standard stalls, regardless of the cows' size. The cows simply step over the lowered bar to exit the stall.

Milking Machine Retractor

US Patent:
5937786, Aug 17, 1999
Filed:
Apr 14, 1998
Appl. No.:
9/060041
Inventors:
Steve Peacock - Portales NM
Assignee:
Peacock Bros. Inc. - Portales
International Classification:
A01J 5017
US Classification:
119 1411
Abstract:
A milking machine retractor includes a pair of rails affixed to a stall, the rails defining a path along which a carriage rides. The carriage has an arm extending away from the path, and a rod mounted on the arm is tethered to the milkers so that as the carriage moves away from the udder, the milkers are removed from the teats. The rails twist about the path so that the arm swings from a substantially vertical orientation at the lower end of the path to a substantially horizontal orientation at the upper end of the path. As a result of the resultant twisting carriage motion, the milkers are initially pulled down, off the teats, and then are withdrawn from the stall without touching the floor.

Cattle Conveying System For Dairy Parlors

US Patent:
2002002, Feb 28, 2002
Filed:
Aug 30, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/941673
Inventors:
Steve Peacock - Portales NM, US
International Classification:
A01J003/00
US Classification:
119/014030
Abstract:
Groups of cows are transported by wheeled conveyances to and from a milking station in a dairy parlor. Cows are loaded onto the conveyances, and are discharged therefrom, at locations on either side of the milking station. This avoids having to herd cows into and out of the milking station, maximizing milking equipment utilization.
