Low Absorption Spectral Selective Solar Control Film For Fenestration

US Patent:
2011001, Jan 20, 2011
Filed:
Jul 14, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/502878
Inventors:
Stephen S. Wilson - Las Vegas NV, US
Bart Wilson - Las Vegas NV, US
Seth Wilson - Las Vegas NV, US
International Classification:
B32B 17/06, E04F 13/00
US Classification:
428426, 156 71
Abstract:
A building structure having a high efficiency solar control system is provided. The building structure may have a window defined by a sheet of glass and a film mounted to its exterior side. The film may reflect solar radiation in the near and mid infrared ranges yet allow high transmission of light in the visible range such that the occupants of the building structure may view his/her surroundings through the window. The film may have a layer of silver which reflects the solar radiation in the near and mid infrared ranges. Since the silver is susceptible to oxidation and turns the silver into a black body which absorbs the near and mid infrared radiation, the film may be designed to slow the rate of oxidation of the silver layer to an acceptable level. The silver layer may be sandwiched between the glass which does not allow oxygen to diffuse there through and reach the layer of silver and a stack of sacrificial layers having a certain thickness which slows down the rate of oxygen diffusion to an acceptable level.

Spectral Selective Solar Control Film Containing An Air Layer For Windows

US Patent:
2011001, Jan 20, 2011
Filed:
Apr 19, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/762486
Inventors:
Stephen S. Wilson - Las Vegas NV, US
Bart Wilson - Las Vegas NV, US
Seth Wilson - Las Vegas NV, US
International Classification:
G02B 5/26, B32B 37/12
US Classification:
359360, 156 71
Abstract:
A building structure having a high efficiency solar control system is provided. The building structure may have a window defined by a sheet of glass and a film mounted to its exterior side. There may be a gap between the film and the glass wherein the film, film and gap, or gap provides thermal insulation. The film may reflect solar radiation in the near and mid infrared ranges yet allow high transmission of light in the visible range such that the occupants of the building structure may view his/her surroundings through the window. The film may have a layer of silver which reflects the solar radiation in the near and mid infrared ranges. Since the silver is susceptible to oxidation and turns the silver into a black body which absorbs the near and mid infrared radiation, a protective layer on the exterior of the infrared reflecting layer may be designed to slow the rate of oxidation of the silver layer to an acceptable level. The silver layer may be sandwiched between the glass which does not allow oxygen to diffuse there through and reach the layer of silver and the protective layer having a certain thickness which slows down the rate of oxygen diffusion to an acceptable level.

Touch Screen Shield

US Patent:
2012018, Jul 26, 2012
Filed:
Jul 20, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/186690
Inventors:
Stephen S. Wilson - Las Vegas NV, US
Bart Wilson - Las Vegas NV, US
Seth Wilson - Las Vegas NV, US
International Classification:
H05K 9/00, B26D 3/00
US Classification:
361816, 493344
Abstract:
A shield that is attachable to a touch sensitive screen is disclosed. The shield may be attached to the touch sensitive screen only at its outer peripheral portion. An air gap is enclosed between the shield and the touch sensitive screen to form a planar air bearing. The shield preferably does not touch the active area of the touch sensitive screen when the user is not touching the shield but only viewing the touch sensitive screen through the shield. This mitigates unwanted optical artifacts such as trapped air bubbles, Newton rings and chromatic interference while maintaining the sensitivity of the touch sensitive screen.

Truck Assembly

US Patent:
8469377, Jun 25, 2013
Filed:
Jan 10, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/346923
Inventors:
Stephen S. Wilson - Las Vegas NV, US
Bradley E. Wernli - Oceanside CA, US
Assignee:
Sbyke USA LLC - Las Vegas NV
International Classification:
A63C 17/01
US Classification:
280 87042, 280 1127, 280 1128
Abstract:
A truck assembly for a vehicle such as a skateboard or scooter may have a kingpin about which a hanger rotates. The hanger may be biased toward a caming surface having a depressed configuration by a spring, weight of the rider and also via a centrifugal force created during turning. This aids in dynamically stabilizing the truck assembly and the vehicle to which the truck assembly is mounted based on the particular rider and the maneuver being performed on the vehicle. The caming surface may have a regressive configuration such that the spring compresses at a different rate per degree of rotation of the hanger.

Skate Truck

US Patent:
8448954, May 28, 2013
Filed:
Dec 9, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/963899
Inventors:
Stephen S. Wilson - Las Vegas NV, US
Assignee:
SBYKE USA LLC - Las Vegas NV
International Classification:
A63C 17/00
US Classification:
280 1127, 280 87042
Abstract:
A skate truck is disclosed which provides for a wide yaw angle for a hanger, minimal friction during yawing of the hanger, and a suspension that is dynamically stabilized based on a weight of a rider and a turn radius of a vehicle to which the skate truck is mounted. Additionally, a tension of the skate truck can be adjusted by preloading a spring which accommodates a wide weight ranger of riders. The truck may have a hanger supported between two bearings, namely, a sliding bearing system and a thrust bearing. The sliding bearings slide within grooves that define a pivot axis of the hanger. The grooves can also have various customized ramp profiles to provide a different feel during turning of the vehicle.
