Other skills and experience: I have worked in the nursing field since 1990. I worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant until I attended practical nursing training in 2003. I have extensive long term and acute care experience as a nursing assistant, a ward clerk on a medical/surgical floor, and as an activity director for an Alzheimer special care unit. I have also done a great deal of home care work as a nursing assistant. I am technically savvy, and very comfortable with using technical applications in my work. I excel at working independently as well as within a team. I don't believe that nursing is just something that I do, it is who I am. As an employee, I always strive to provide the best of care to all of my patients. I am motivated by challenge, and am always seeking to improve my skills. I am currently pursuing further education. I will obtain an associate degree in biological clinical science next spring, and intend to further my education at a four year institution after that. My ultimate goal is to obtain Master of Science in nursing, and of course obtain my registered nursing license.
