Abstract:
Automated methods and systems are disclosed for persistently facilitating the timely gathering, monitoring, distribution and delivery of information related to medical care where such may include: (1) finding a communications channel for effectively attempting a message delivery to a specific target person at a specified time; (2) adaptively finding a targeted recipient even if the latter is highly mobile and/or has travel patterns or communications-channel preferences that change over time; (3) verifying that a targeted recipient has actually received an attempted delivery within an applicable time limit; (4) automatically recognizing that an urgent message delivery-attempt was not timely completed and adaptively alerting responsible entities of the in completion; and (5) automatically recognizing that an urgent change or non change of condition has occurred by virtue of information gathered during an automated or manually-conducted Interview where physician expected positive progress prior to Interview and adaptively alerting responsible entities of the changed or unchanged condition based on the urgency of the change or non-change.

Abstract:
A automated patient information retrieval system is provided for notifying patients of medical information. The automated patient information retrieval system includes a processor coupled to memory and a telephone interface circuitry. A processor is also coupled to a modem and an I/O interface. The system allows for a medical provider to enter medical information into voice mailboxes. The messages many be time-sensitive wherein the system automatically calls patients to notify of pending medical information in voice mailboxes. The patient then may telephone the system to receive a medical message stored in a patient mailbox. Medical providers may generate custom voice messages or enter predetermined bulletin codes associated with pre-recorded voice messages. Also, medical providers can enter notes associated with medical voice mailboxes which are only accessible by the medical provider. Message integrity and security are enhanced by requiring the patient to enter both a patient identification number and a medical provider identification number.

Abstract:
A machine-implemented social networking system includes a hierarchy tree containing topic nodes. New nodes are added as new topics emerge in online public forums. Each topic node can link to an on-topic real time chat room whose occupants are currently discussing the topic of the node. A node-seeking automated process operates in the background and seeks out nodes that currently have topics appearing to be the same as or similar to what topics the user appears to have in mind. A cross-pollination subsystem is provided within a Social-Topical Adaptive Networking (STAN) system.
