Philosophy:
You may have hidden addictions, fears, or have lost interest in activities you used to enjoy. Perhaps your relationship or career is not fulfilling. I consult with individuals to develop specific skills and insight to overcome barriers to quality living. Such barriers may include fear of success, fear of failure, self-sabotaging habits, frustration and anger, addictions, loss of direction, loss of energy, social isolation, feelings of being an impostor, or being different from others. I work confidentially with professionals who have some successes in life, yet have encountered some areas of difficulty they want to overcome.
My initial training was in overcoming stress and addictions. Treatment of addictions requires an expertise in multiple areas of functioning: relationships, stress mastery, sexuality, emotional intelligence, motivation, and life balance.I became curious about the effect of stress and drugs on the brain and sought training in neuropsychology and psychological assessment.
A thorough assessment is the foundation for developing a plan of action. These skills have proven to be valuable in the forensic arena. I therefore also conduct evaluations for business executives, competency, personal injury (brain trauma), fitness for duty, pre-surgical, substance abuse, memory, learning disabilities, and malingering (exaggeration of deficits).
