Anchor Bolt Spacer

US Patent:
2006007, Apr 6, 2006
Filed:
Sep 30, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/957511
Inventors:
Lucas Fouch - Boise ID, US
Scott Soule - Boise ID, US
Matthew Meyers - Boise ID, US
International Classification:
E04B 1/38
US Classification:
052712000
Abstract:
The anchor bolt spacer of the present invention includes a central panel that has an end and a side. An end panel is connected with the central panel at the central panel's end. The end panel includes an outer edge opposite the central panel. An anchor bolt bore is defined through the end panel. A central tab is connected with the central panel along the central panel's side. Further, an end panel tab is connected with the end panel, opposite the end panel's outer edge. When formed, the central tab and the end panel tab are arranged to extend into the concrete foundation to rigidly hold the anchor bolt spacer in position. As such, when formed, the central tab and the end panel tab lie in substantially perpendicular planes. Additionally, the present invention is especially useful as it provides supplemental reinforcement to help drag shear loading from an anchor bolt into the concrete where short end distances are required.

Anchor Bolt Holder

US Patent:
2006007, Apr 6, 2006
Filed:
Sep 30, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/956931
Inventors:
Lucas Fouch - Boise ID, US
Terry Metzker - Oceanside CA, US
Scott Soule - Boise ID, US
Matthew Meyers - Boise ID, US
International Classification:
E02D 5/74
US Classification:
052155000
Abstract:
A reusable anchor bolt holder includes an anchor bolt engagement section that defines a bore configured to receive an anchor bolt, such as those used in typical commercial or residential construction practices. The anchor bolt holder also includes an attachment section connected with the anchor bolt engagement section. The attachment section includes a first attachment section and a second attachment section, both of which are hingedly connected with the anchor bolt engagement section. Additionally, the anchor bolt holder includes a lock configured to releaseably couple the first attachment section with the second attachment section. Still further, the first attachment section and the second attachment section include at least one fastener bore that is configured to allow for standard mechanical fastening, such as screws for nails, of the anchor bolt holder a supporting structure.

Shear Wall Attachment Assembly And Method Of Use

US Patent:
7716887, May 18, 2010
Filed:
Dec 30, 2004
Appl. No.:
11/026041
Inventors:
Lucas B. Fouch - Boise ID, US
Scott A. Soule - Boise ID, US
Glen D. Robak - Boise ID, US
Assignee:
Weyerhaeuser NR Company - Federal Way WA
International Classification:
E02D 27/00
US Classification:
522933, 52274, 52289, 52295
Abstract:
The present invention is a raised floor assembly efficiently connecting a pre-fabricated shear wall to a foundation in applications other than slab-on-grade. The raised floor assembly includes an engineered wood material block machined to accept a connecting rod therethrough. The raised floor assembly also includes a connecting rod that is configured to attach at one end to a pre-fabricated shear wall and is coupled at the other end to an anchor bolt. Additionally, a transfer plate may be positioned between the pre-fabricated shear wall and the top of the engineered wood material block. The transfer plate provides a bearing surface for the pre-fabricated shear wall and helps maintain connecting rod alignment. A transfer plate may also be provided underneath the engineered wood material block and above the foundation. Additionally, a variety of spacers may be provided between the bottom of the engineered wood material block and the foundation.
