Device For Generating Alternative Of Normal Brain Database
US Patent:
2010007, Mar 25, 2010
Filed:
Sep 22, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/234910
Inventors:
Satoshi Minoshima - Seattle WA, US Kiyotaka Watanabe - Tokyo, JP Shuya Miki - Tokyo, JP Kazuhiro Nishikawa - Nishinomiya-shi, JP
Assignee:
UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON - Seattle WA NIHON MEDI-PHYSICS CO., LTD - Tokyo
International Classification:
G06K 9/00
US Classification:
382128
Abstract:
CPU reads out the bloodstream associated values of target voxel of subject's standardized brain bloodstream images (step S). CPU sorts the bloodstream associated values in descending order (step S). CPU rejects bloodstream associated values that are ranked top 10% and bottom 40% (step S). When the subjects are 20 for example, bloodstream associated values of highest 2 subjects and of lowest 8 subjects are rejected. CPU calculates and stores mean value and standard deviation of remaining bloodstream associated values after the rejection (step S). CPU calculates mean value and standard deviation of bloodstream associated values for each voxel as target voxel (steps S, S, S and S). Then, the alternative normal brain database of brain bloodstream image is obtained.

International Classification:
A61B 5/00, G06K 9/00
US Classification:
600300, 382128
Abstract:
A method for assessing a treatment in a trial includes obtaining images generated from image data acquired at different times during a trial time period for a same region of interest of a subject. The treatment is administered to the subject for the trial. The method further includes co-registering the images and mapping the co-registered images to a reference image representing the region of interest. The method further includes generating a trial image of the region of interest showing at least one of structural or functional physiological changes that occurred during the trial time period based on the mapped co-registered images, and displaying the trial image.
