Philosophy:
Rheumatology is a fascinating subspecialty of internal medicine that focuses on immune-related disorders such as lupus, connective tissue diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, and psoriatic arthritis, as well as other conditions such as osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, and fibromyalgia. Over the past decade there have been numerous advances in the field which has had a tremendous positive impact on the quality of life for many patients despite having a chronic illness. My approach to treating these often complex and chronic diseases is to listen to the patient and understand their needs, provide education and use evidence-based medicine to achieve the best possible outcome. Each patientâÂÂs experience and needs are unique just as no two fingerprints can be similar. Therefore, I focus on developing, in partnership with my patient, an individualized treatment plan that meets their goals for optimal health. As my patients frequently have chronic conditions, I feel privileged to develop lasting relationships with them, and I truly enjoy providing for their care and comfort.
