Philosophy:
I greatly enjoy the interaction with my patients. While I enjoy the challenge of surgery it is important that all conservative measures are exhausted before resorting to operative intervention. There are clearly health problems of the spine that warrant early surgical intervention but fortunately they are quite rare. I believe in a careful history and physical exam. The use of technology to aid in diagnosis as a supplement can be quite helpful when used wisely.
