I am currently working for a local hospital performing adult and pediatric echocardiograms, arterial and venous ultrasound, venous reflux studies, carotid doppler, and abdominal aorta ultrasound, stress echocardiograms, dobutamine stress echocardiograms and transesophageal echocardiograms. This is a completely digital lab. My experiences includes working with in patients, outpatients, portables, in the OR (for intra-op TEE's). My other experiences include working in radiology as a general radiographer and as a CT technologist for 4 years. As part of working in healthcare, we have students that shadow us during their clinical rotations. I enjoy teaching and working with them and passing on my knowledge to them. I enjoy working in diagnostic imaging. I recently graduated from the University of West Florida with a BS degree in Medical Information Technology. As part of my degree, my related coursework include programming using Visual Basics, C#, Java, JavaScript, Perl CGI, HTML, XHTML, web design for E-Commerce, Sequel in Oracle, relational databases, Microsoft Access and Excel, Database Systems and Data Mining. My Health Science related coursework include understanding and working with different electronic clinical record systems such as Practice Fusion, applications of IT, understanding public health program planning, human-computer interaction, advances in health sciences and research, bioinformatics, gerontology, and business analysis and decision making in health care among others. I will begin my graduated studies on database specialization this Fall semester.
