Philosophy:
Dr. Khansarinia specializes in thoracic surgery. A graduate
of the University of California in San Diego, he received his
medical degree from St. Louis University and completed his
internship and residency in general, thoracic and cardiovascular
surgery at the University of Florida. He has a special interest
in minimally invasive surgery and thoracic oncology.
Dr. Khansarinia was the first surgeon in the southeast to
place a diaphragm pacing system and remains one of the
leading surgeons in the country in placing diaphragm pacing
systems to aid quadriplegic and other patients with diaphragm
dysfunction. Board certified in thoracic Surgery, he is a Fellow
of the American College of Surgeons and he is a member
of the Southern Thoracic Surgical Association, Society of
Thoracic Surgeons and Society of Surgical Oncology. For the
past five years, he has been the American College of Surgeons
cancer liaison physician for Piedmont Hospital. In his spare
