Dr. Scannell strives to treat each patient as if they were a member of his family. He always asks himself, "If this were my child or mother, what would I do?". He places a priority on patient care and on creating a strong patient-physician relationship. To establish this, he focuses on communication and on staying in close contact with his patients until their medical issues/concerns are resolved. He tries to incorporate humor, whenever possible, and wants his patients to have a informative and pleasant time while visiting with him. He also prioritizes close interaction with his patient's primary physicians so they remain informed and involved in their patient's progress. From a surgical perspective, he is extremely detail-oriented and actively studies to stay up to date with treatment guidelines and surgical techniques.
