Method And System For Flood Irrigation

Method And System For Flood Irrigation

US Patent:
5993111, Nov 30, 1999
Filed:
Aug 5, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/906757
Inventors:
Rufus Madison Holloway - Orlando FL
International Classification:
A01G 902, A01G 2500, E02B 806, E02B 1300
US Classification:
405 39
Abstract:
The system includes a plurality of flood plains. Each flood plain contains a plurality of plants and each plant is held in a pot. The flood plains are excavated at different elevations from an upper most elevation to a lower most elevation. The flood plains are sequentially flooded for a resident time period with a selected volume of water directed from a water source. As the flood plains are excavated to different elevations, gravity, and a series of flood gates, control the water flow from one flood plain to a next lower flood plain. Each flood plain has a top surface and an underlying bed comprising a soil and clay composition. The surface of each bed is contoured to adequately drain water from one flood plain to the next. This clay mixture firms the bed to adequately support vehicles and laborers to prevent depressions in the bed which may adversely affect water flow in and out of a flood plain. Each of the flood plains is lined with a water impermeable membrane.

Hydraulic Valve And A Liquid Flow System

Hydraulic Valve And A Liquid Flow System

US Patent:
2002009, Jul 25, 2002
Filed:
Jan 17, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/051823
Inventors:
Rufus Holloway - Orlando FL, US
International Classification:
E02B013/00
US Classification:
251/129110, 251/294000, 251/343000, 405/036000
Abstract:
This invention relates to a hydraulic valve (10) and an interconnected hydraulic valve system, (). Two coaxially disposed pipes () are positioned vertically to form an annular space () there between. A flange () provided with a external seal () cooperates with an end of the outer pipe (). Openings () formed in the inner pipe () regulates water flow. The inner pipe is also sealingly interconnected with a main supply pipe () for entry of water through opening (). An electrical motorized hoist () provides for activation and operation of the hydraulic valve system.

Sleeve And Piston Valve With Emptying Device

Sleeve And Piston Valve With Emptying Device

US Patent:
2006020, Sep 14, 2006
Filed:
Mar 6, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/368571
Inventors:
Rufus Holloway - Orlando FL, US
International Classification:
G05D 11/00
US Classification:
137119030
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a hydraulic valve arranged for connecting to a water supply source, constituted by three separate co-axially disposed and spaced apart telescopic cylindrical members. The outer cylinder regulates water flow, the middle cylinder has openings or windows and the inner cylinder has a bottom, with the inner cylinder interconnected with the outer cylinder having a hoisting means constituted by a cable and pulley system. Alternatively the valve may operate with the inner cylinder as the piston which closes the valve. In that case the outer cylinder acts as a water weight to raise the piston and open the valve.
